Kona Pics Part 2: The Hot Corner
After frying for a couple hours shooting video on the Queen K out a Waikaloa, we raced back to town on the mountain highway just in time to catch many of the pros (and Lisbeth) at the “hot corner”. This the corner of Kuikini and Hualulai, which sits at the top of a moderate rise. The runner pass by att approximately mile .5, mile 10, and mile 25+. Last week the hot corner was just that – hotter than heck – not a breath of wind due to the surrounding buildings, and almost everyone looked awful on the way up to mile 10. Except Chrissie and Rinnie.

Nice pictures.
And Ain-Alar Juhansson is also my hero, along with Eros Poli and his TdF Ventoux victory. Big men, literally, being really smart and strong, using what would normally handicap them, to their advantage.
Much to learn from them.
