ISM Adamo Saddles

We have tons of experience riding and fitting ISM Adamo saddles. If you simply cannot get comfortable on your conventional saddle, an Adamo may be the answer. Both men and women find that Adamos take pressure off the places you don't want it and allow you stay in your aero position all day - no longer will crotch discomfort force you to sit up. Many road cyclists like them as well - if you have numbness issues, we can practically guarantee you won't with an Adamo. We are authorized Adamo dealers (because we use them and they work!) - contact us for more info.

Here's what our clients have to say about their Adamos:

"Well I finally got the seat on and have been able to do a couple of 2+ hour rides. What can I say, that seat is frigin amazing. I did a century last sunday on my old seat and all I can say is OWW! Typically I can feel the numbness setting in as early as 20 minutes. After today's ride I am pretty convinced with how well this works, virtually no numbness, ... I feel comfortable, balanced and strong...even sitting towards the nose of the seat is comfortable. So thanks for your great review and setup video and these guys really nailed this seat!!" - RW, Adamo Road

"the Adamo Typhoon seat ROCKS!!! No pain at all---which is a miracle!" - KB, Adamo Typhoon

"I got the Adamo seat 2 days ago, and rode about 35 miles on it yesterday- WOW! What a difference. I followed the instructions on your website, and that's all I had to do. No comfort issues at all!" - JD, Adamo Race

Adamo Saddle Setup Guide

NEW! Podium and Breakaway - $199.95

These are the new "full length" Adamos, measuring 27cm long like standard road saddles. Although they are designed with the road cyclist in mind, we are finding that many triathletes really like them. They have a flatter, wider, more padded back half than the race model, and a longer nose with a downward-curved tip. If you like to move around on the saddle, these may be for you. If you're looking for an Adamo for your road bike, one these is probably your best bet. The breakaway is identical to the podium except it has more padding in the back half. Both models have Ti rails. We stock them in black, white available as special order. Special orders will take an extra 3-5 days.

Adamo Race Saddle - $199.95

This is the original top of the line Adamo for Triathletes and TT riders. Designed for more aggressive aero positions with a narrower profile, Ti rails, and a bit less gel padding than the road model. About 35g lighter than the road model. This is the one Lis and I (and most of the Fuel Belt Race Team) use for all distances. We stock them in black. Special order colors: Red, Blue, Gray, White or Special Edition USA. Special orders will take an extra 3-5 days.

Adamo Road Saddle - $149.95

Used by Lance on his TT bike, the Adamo Road is a great saddle for both aero position and road position. Designed for a more upright seating position, this model has a slightly wider back half, CrMo rails, and a bit more gel padding than the race model. Although most of our roadie buddies use this model, it is also used by many triathletes, especially women. We stock them in black. Special order colors: Red, Blue, White, Gray. Special orders will take an extra 3-5 days.

Adamo Typhoon Saddle - $119.95
Adamo Century Saddle - $129.95

These Adamos are for those who prefer a softer, wider saddle. Also designed for a more upright seating position, these models have a much wider back half, CrMo rails, lycra cover, and a lot more gel padding than the other models. These are versatile saddles useable for anything from a moderately aggressive aero position to a road bike or an upright touring or MTB setup. Both saddles are very similar with stainless steel rails, but the Century has a longer tail. Available only in black.

John O'Connell talks about his Keywins: "Todd- I have about 3000 miles on my Keywins since purchase and love them. Having been a 20+ year user of Time pedals and shoes I see no loss in performance in fact I see a gain. Very light and comfortable to use in terms of getting in and out of etc. I will be ordering up some more for other bikes shortly. Not sure why anyone would want or need to spend significantly more for the other "top" pedals. I am crossing my fingers as I write this but I have had zero back pain since being fitted by you and installing these pedals."

* A note on rider weight limits: Some other Ti-axle pedals specify a maximum rider weight of 185lbs. Keywin has this to say: "We’ve been producing virtually the same axle for over 25 years in chrome moly and over 15 years in titanium. We’ve had very few failures indeed. Our pedals are used by track riders a great deal and by many riding the kilo which is arguably the greatest strain a pedal axle will be asked to take. These riders are often big guys with enormous power in their thighs. Many of them are 90+ kgs. The pedals have taken all this power with no problems." I have used these pedals, both Ti and Crmo, for years and I am around 200lbs. However, if you are an especially big rider, you may want to wait until we offer Crmo axles in the future.

Speedil Hydration Systems

We like products that were designed by engineers that actually compete. These products invariably make sense and work well. Speedfil is one such product - Lis used it in Kona and loved it. It allows you to hold 40oz of fluid down low on your frame for better weight distribution and aerodynamics compared to aerobar-mounted drink systems. Wind tunnel tests show that a Speedfil generates less drag than frame mounted bottles and an aerobar drink system. I like the fact that it is very easy to refill on the fly, and the splash guard really works unlike those in many aerobar bottles. You will not end up wearing half your hydration drink with Speedfil. Personally, I hate becoming a sticky bee-magnet as said hydration formula splashes all over and dries on my forearms, legs, handlebars, frame, etc. The soft bite valve works well and is far more comfortable than hard plastic tubing. It does a great job of holding fluid in the tube so that you don't have to suck it all the way up from the bottle each time you drink. The drinking tube comes with a neoprene sleeve that contains a bendable wire - this means the tube stays wherever you put it. We prefer to keep it down between our arms, and just bend it up to take a drink. Again, we like this a lot better than having a stiff tube sticking up in our face for the entire ride - and it's more aero. The bottle is easily removed for cleaning. The optional neoprene Speedsok helps keep your drink cool.

Speedfil Hydration System - $99.95

The complete Speedfil system for down-tube mounting only (You must have water bottle mounts on your downtube). Includes plenty of tubing, easy-mount cage, bite valve, splash guard, removable cable ties for positioning the drink tube, etc. Speedsok sold separately.

MAP Amino Acid Supplement

Improve recovery, optimize performance!*
$53.95 (120 capsules), 4 or more = $40 per bottle

I will be first to say I am very skeptical of any claims made by supplements, and historically neither Lis or I have used anything beyond vitamins. But Lis stumbled upon MAP at IM AZ in 2008. She was given a sample and took ten pills immediately following the race (and this was just weeks after competing in Kona too). Amazingly, the day after the race she was free from soreness and literally dancing around her teammates, much to their annoyance as they limped around. I was still skeptical - this is anecdotal and not scientific proof. Lis was sold however, and she has used MAP regularly since then, as have several of our teammates. I have even reluctantly tried it and by golly it really seems to take the fatigue and soreness away. For tons of information and data please see their website

Lazer Tardiz Aero Helmet

We are very impressed with these Belgian-made helmets. They are designed to optimize airflow and reduce drag in both the head down (tail up) and head up positions. Compared to other aero helmets, these are light, well ventilated, and have a water port and "internal sprinkler" for cooling. They also have the "Rollsys" adjustment system which allows you to snug or loosen the helmet easily and effectively while riding. Plus, these have a smaller frontal area than many other popular helmets. Two sizes: Small = 52-58 cm, Large= 58-61 cm. For more info click here and here.

Colors: (Note that the w/r/b helmet does NOT have the "Katusha" logo on the side as shown in photo)

Tifosi Vogel Eyewear

These are the ONLY shades I can wear on the TT bike. Now Lis is using them and loves them. The simply work GREAT in the aero position, and here's why:
  • No frame to obscure your vision in a low aero position
  • Photochromic lenses: they change from very light to quite dark in response to changing light conditions - perfect for long course racing!
  • Nose and ear pieces are bendable so you can configure them to fit YOUR face - this is huge for me - these are the only shades that don't slide down my nose, and I've tried them all.
  • Large lenses block the wind but resist fogging
  • Super light (24g) and very affordable (only $59.95 - no second mortgage required!)
  • They work great on the run too!
We stock matte black frames with rose lenses that darken to 12% light transmission, or matte gunmetal frames with clear lenses that darken to 17% light transmission. Vogels come with a hard case and soft bag.
